Patricia Ohlott
Senior Project Manager
Patricia Ohlott ("Patty") is a researcher with a background in organizational behavior, diversity, and leadership development. Patty has extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative research design, methodology, and analyses. She is skilled in the development and validation of survey instruments, and also has experience developing and conducting interviews. At OMG, Patty is involved in a variety of projects, including evaluations of the Childhood Obesity Prevention Program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Lumina Foundation's McCabe Fund to improve college access for minority, low-income, first-generation, urban and rural students. She is also involved in an evaluation planning project for the Rural People, Rural Policy initiative of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.
Prior to joining OMG, Patty was a senior faculty member at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC, where her research spanned a variety of topics including: survivor responses to layoffs during an organizational downturn; an evaluation of the decision making process in promotion decisions; leadership development experiences of women and African-American managers; developmental experiences on the job; and leadership and conflict management in diverse international settings. Most recently, her work there focused on the career development of women leaders and the impact of diversity on management development processes. She was project manager for a longitudinal study of the choices and tradeoffs of high achieving women, and coauthor of the resulting book, Standing at the Crossroads: Next Steps for High-Achieving Women. Throughout her career, a critical component of her work has been to make research findings accessible to and usable by a variety of audiences, and she has worked to incorporate research findings into training programs as well as to publish them in both academic and practitioner venues.
Patty is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society for I/O Psychology, and the Academy of Management, and has presented her work at many of their conferences. She holds a B.A. from Yale University in Psychology and is A.B.D. towards a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior at Duke University.
