The Pew Charitable Trusts Vulnerable Adult Program OMG served as an intermediary for The Pew Charitable Trusts' grantmaking program to nonprofit human services agencies that serve vulnerable adults in the five-county Philadelphia metropolitan region. As the Trusts' intermediary, OMG solicited proposals for both service-delivery and capacity-building grants; reviewed proposals and made funding recommendations to the Board of the Trusts; provided ongoing fiscal and administrative oversight to grantees; and offered training and technical assistance to grantees on outcome assessment, organizational development, fiscal management, and best practices. The Pew Charitable Trusts' PACE Seminar Series OMG assisted The Pew Charitable Trusts in the development, implementation, and assessment of its quarterly seminar series, “Programs Adjusting to a Changing Environment,” for Pew Fund grantees in the Philadelphia region who serve vulnerable adults, the elderly, and children, youth, and family. OMG personnel focused each session on an emerging capacity building need of nonprofit human services agencies; provided compelling speakers and supplemental materials; coordinated each session; and developed summary and evaluation materials. Program Management Assistance for the Making Connections Initiative, Annie E. Casey Foundation OMG is providing assistance to the Foundation in managing Making Connections in Miami. A multi-site, multi-year initiative, Making Connections seeks to develop strategies that respond to the challenges facing families in troubled communities with the aim of strengthening families and improving outcomes for children. Capacity Building, Southern Rural Development Initiative The Southern Rural Development Initiative (SRDI) is a collaboration of community-based institutions working together in the rural South to leverage financial capital and build the capacity of nonprofits engaged in community and economic development. SRDI asked OMG to help its member groups build a shared understanding and approach to program evaluation. OMG staff used pathway mapping as part of a series of workshops that aimed to foster an understanding of basic evaluation concepts, help participants think through theories of change underlying their work, and engage in peer learning and coaching. Management Assessment, National Park Service OMG conducted a management assessment for the Division of Park and Resource Planning for the Mid-Atlantic Office of the National Park Service. Through interviews with all staff and senior administrators, and through data analysis, OMG developed recommendations for improving Division management policies, and for gaining greater staff involvement and team development. Action strategies based on critiques of the recommendations during staff retreats were subsequently designed to move the organization forward. |
