Short-Term Training
OMG offers a customized, six-month training program beginning with a two-day workshop. Typically, the workshop includes an overview of evaluation components; in-depth sessions on one or two data collection methods; and a discussion of the analysis and use of data. A six-month coaching period follows the workshop during which grantees apply the skills learned to their own organization's evaluation needs. The training concludes with an in-person convening to share and critique completed work.
A recent example of short-term training can be found below.
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
The OMG Center provided short-term training to over 50 grantees organizations of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to build the grantee's ability to use evaluation on an ongoing basis. Participants were trained in small cohorts comprising representatives of 8 - 10 organizations. Training began with a two-day workshop. The workshop was followed by six months of coaching. Workshop participants applied new skills to design and implement their own evaluation projects during the coaching phase.
