Hartford Community Schools: Lessons from Whole-School and Whole-Community Reform
Julie Tarr and the Hartford Community Schools (HCS) team presented key findings, lessons learned, and preliminary student impacts from OMG’s two-and-a-half year evaluation of HCS, during a session at the Children’s Aid Society’s Community Schools Practicum.
During the co-sponsored workshop the team discussed the tools that OMG co-developed with HCS to track the progress of this work, including the Hartford Community Schools Theory of Change, which helped clearly articulate expected changes in the community schools and specific activities to drive those changes; and Outcomes Tools, a more detailed series of tools to help stakeholders track their progress over the short, medium, and longer term.
